Base 11

So we live in the world of Base 10.  We don’t realize it, or at least think to much on the subject, but there are other systems of mathematical number representation.  Check out this link to get an idea of what I am talking about.  We use the numbers 0 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9  to represent all mathematical integers.  But what if we were taught something different starting at birth?  The answer is you wouldn’t know the difference. 


We live in a world in which most people do not question enough the fundamental teachings that dictate they way we see reality.  Language, family values, religion, right, and wrong, are some examples of things we accept, not because they are correct, but because we are taught them. 


But again don’t forget, we live in Base 10.  What if we didn’t?  What if we lived in Base 11?  Don’t think of this in the numerical sense, but instead as a metaphor for the way we see reality.  I imagine a reality in which we do not teach people to abide by institutions – institutions that dictate the way the world is run.  A reality where everybody is free to figure out their own belief system instead of being taught to live within the constructs of a certain paradigm.  Where free thought reigns supreme and progress is the norm.  A reality that is not dependent on the aspirations of the Man.  Instead a reality that is free of him – a reality called Base 11.

Thinking Anew, Change the Paradigm

Isn’t it crazy how life works.  You are born, you are raised and usually by the time you are 5 years old everyone that knows you, teachers, friends, family, etc. all have an idea of what “you will become” in life.  But why do we have to live up to these expectations?  Its one thing to say “Do whatever the hell you want with you life,” and another to do it.  Its another thing to blindly follow some bullshit life path that you are told you have to do in order to have a good life.  So the dilemma is, do we accept blindly and act like sheep or do we live however we want?  Well, the fact of the matter is there is, there is a reality in the nature of how our present world works.  No one person can change that.  But we do have a chance with the utilization of technology, critical thought and kindness to make a small difference in our own lives and the lives of those we touch.  Look at what is going on in countries like Egypt, Libya and others.  There was a true uprising of people against oppressors.  If you are reading this you probably cannot even fathom living your life in the way so many less fortunate people live.  So day by day try to do and think a little bit differently than you did the day before.  Start conversations with people and think critically while doing it.  Teach the young people in your life to do this as well.  Do what you want, but do not neglect responsibility.  We live in an overcrowded planet with a finite amount of resources.  Just because  something is abundant right now it will not always be so.  I challange you to look at a chart that shows the population growth of humans over the course of our existence.  We can not continue unendingly living life as is, and expect things to last forever.  The time is now for an evolution of thought, a change in paradigm (thank you Daniel Pinchbeck) if you will.
